A word to the wise though, this is a sample sale. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely they will have sizes from 0-30, more like Size 8 dress size (don’t quote me on that). It’s the same thing when you go into a shoe store and everything is almost a standard Size 7 or smaller shoe size to try on… Don’t be disappointed if you go home empty handed, it’s about the experience! And, there’s always a fairy godmother, somewhere!

It is overwhelming once that ring is on your finger. Your brain will be consumed by all things wedding. To make it easier for you (and everyone else) start off with a Wish List and then your Real List (no pun intended). Because we can’t all have the unlimited budget and grand affair. We have debts, student loans, savings, mortgages, car payments, etc. etc. and no one wants to be in debt after your wedding. Therefore, have a budget set out in your mind already.

You should create an approximate amount you and your fiance want to spend for each vendor. Maybe food is more important to you than florals, and you will put more money towards your caterer.
Make sure you to discuss with your fiance about the things that you just can’t budge on (e.g. bridal gown, shoes, food, photography etc.) and where things can be flexible (e.g. wedding cake, linens, florals, decor etc.).
A must have for any bride is a wedding planner. No, I’m not shamelessy self-promoting (okay, maybe a little) but even I would need a wedding planner for my own wedding. Last week I had the pleasure of attending the floral and decor class hosted by The Wedding Decorators. An intro class to creating bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, small to large altar arrangements and flower girl baskets. We also learned how to set up backdrops and a head table by draping and adding accents.
Each bride is different and unique and will differ from one another. You may want pearls or diamonds in your bridal bouquet or keep it simple. Centerpieces can be tall or short and still elegant. It all depends on your budget and your vision!
Whether you’re a budget conscious bride or not, you should still do your research to see what kind of flowers are in season. Flowers not in season can increase your costs so your florist should be able to offer you some choices and still make your floral dreams come true!
