Happy Halloween!

It’s one of my favourite “holidays” of the year! Candy, chocolate, and costumes! It’s a trifecta of awesome festivities waiting to happen! Whether you’re throwing a party for friends and family or the neighbourhood, make it spooky and fun!

Use lots of orange, black, and white for your colour palette. Pumpkins, candles, candy corn, fake cobwebs and whatever else you can find at the party store for decorations!

Cake pops are hottest trend right now! And some bakers are just so darn good at what they do, they can even create pumpkin cake pops as well as Frankenstein heads!

Proposals: Public or Private?

Share
Source: The Telegraph

Proposals have changed over time and it’s no longer just a private affair between you and your partner – as it should be. Now, it includes your entire family, strangers, and flash mobs. I’m sure you’ve heard and seen the videos of public proposals that have gone viral on YouTube that seem to compete with one another for “best proposal ever” or best proposal of the year (see below for the “Movie Proposal”). But is this really what YOU, the bride-to-be, wants?

How about taking a page out of Prince William’s book? The Prince proposed to his lovely wife, Catherine, in a secluded cabin in Kenya (Kenyan mountains below) when they were on vacation. The only way to get to this cabin? By private helicopter. Secluded and romantic.

Would you rather have your proposal public or private? Was your proposal public and everything you wanted it to be or did you feel pressured? We would love to hear from you!! Send us your proposal story to bride2be@envisionelegance.com!!

Reunited & It Feels So Good

Share

You know those friends you haven’t seen in a while? How about 4 years? I’ve known these people since grade school and high school and I haven’t met people quite like these ones…they’re one in a million. We’ve sporadically met up here and there but have not been all together since 2007. Schedules, work, school, and life keep us busy but it will never change our friendship. These are friends for life and what better way to get together than at an Assyrian wedding? This wedding was like no other I’ve been to or coordinated. Walking into the room and you’re just stunned because it’s so beautiful. The dancing started during the grand entrance of the B&G and didn’t stop all night long. The pictures will speak for themselves.

Light It Right!

Share

Thinking of having candles at your wedding reception for some ambient lighting? Well, make sure your wedding planner, venue manager, and/or caterers are aware! Some venues do not allow candles due to fire code restrictions, so make sure to ask at your meeting with the venue!

Candles provide the aura of romance and elegance – exactly what your wedding, marriage, and love are about.

Becoming a wedding planner has allowed me to open my eyes to the most miniscule details. I attended a reception where there were 3 tealight candles in the center of the table… guests were already seated in the hall and staff came around to light them… and only lighted 1 of the 3 candles on the table! Do you want your venue to be lighted only a third?? NO!! Unacceptable. Candles should also be lighted prior to your guests sitting down to give them that “WOW” factor when they walk into the room. You don’t want venue staff hovering over your guests to light candles.

And when the room lights are turned down for your father-daughter/mother-son dance, or first dance, the lighting will be perfect!
