First Comes Love, then Comes Marriage…

then… the Baby Shower!

I had the pleasure of hosting a Baby Shower for a former co-worker of mine this past weekend, just before Mother’s Day. I only had a few days to plan since she’ll be due in 3 weeks and can go into labour at any time. Put together the invitations and guest list within a day and made reservations.

Homemade Invitations: Staples A2 paper, envelopes, & foil seal + laser printer

It was a simple, small gathering at a local restaurant, Glow Fresh Grill & Wine Bar at The Shops at Don Mills. If you’ve never been to The Shops, make an effort to go with a friend – located at Don Mills & Lawrence Avenue East in Toronto.

The Food: Sangria, Satay platter, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Mini Desserts

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

One of my favourite things to do is photography. I eventually want to do it on a more semi-professional to professional level … currently it’s at amateur or slightly above amateur status (all thanks to my DSLR & various lenses). A photo can capture a moment that can take your breath away.

I urge couples looking for a photographer – whether for an engagement shoot, wedding, newborn baby, special event – to always look for a professional. Yes, they will cost you a pretty penny, BUT also, they are worth every penny. Professionals in any field have had some form of training and experience. They are knowledgeable in a specific area and your money isn’t going to waste. You also have to do your part in researching the best company based on your budget and needs. Always look at the professional’s portfolio and ask for references (previous clients).

Real Wedding: Congratulations to Will & Kate!

Congratulations Prince William & Catherine Middleton,
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
Source: Just Jared

It’s a joyous occasion celebrated worldwide and amidst natural disasters in Japan and Southern US, “Today is a day of hope”. May you have a blessed union for all of your days.

Woke up this morning at 5am, went to bed at 2am! Not once did I cry during the vows or ceremony… the sermon was very good and gives you food for thought! It was when they had their first kiss (*or maybe second) on the balcony, that I started to tear. She looked absolutely stunning and elegant in her dress from the House of Alexander McQueen, perhaps a tribute to the late designer? Her tiara from Cartier, 1936 worn by the Queen Mother, the Queen herself, Princess Margaret and Princess Anne. There is so much history and tradition!! Let’s not forget Pippa in her gorgeous bridesmaid gown with that neckline.

Have a happy Royal Wedding Day everyone!

Why Watch the Royal Wedding?

Share
It’s HISTORYin the making!

Source: Marie Claire

You don’t personally know the bride-to-be and groom, so why bother watching the wedding? Prince William and Kate Middleton will be the future King and Queen of England. This wedding will be talked about for decades and the wedding industry will follow suit in regards to the design of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, her engagement ring (which belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales – Prince William’s mother), jewelry, shoes, decor, florals, and everything else in between. It’s also the wedding of the century that will be watched by 2 billion people worldwide, and yes, I will be part of that statistic.

It’s a moment your future kids will ask you about (“Where were you during the Royal Wedding? Where did you watch it? What were you doing?”).

It’s a moment in time about two people in love (and yeah, he’s also a Prince).

Every girl grows up reading about the Disney Princesses and watching Disney films (Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast etc.) and dreams about finding her true love and her prince charming.

So why not watch a real-life story about a girl who fell in love with a Prince?

What’s Underneath…the Dress?

Regular lingerie not good enough?

Source: I Want It Painted Black

Well, thank heavens or rather, the Victoria’s Secret Angels specifically Lily Aldridge for launching the “Sexy Little Bride” collection. Lily will be getting married to Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill in the next few weeks… so why not launch an exclusive lingerie line prior to her nuptials? Lily was quoted saying she picked out her lingerie first, prior to her wedding dress. That’s a Victoria’s Secret model for ya!

Victoria’s Secret has a wide selection of sexy little things for your bachelorette party/staggette, wedding day (& night), as well as your honeymoon! Check selections online or in stores!
(*Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape or form, affliated with or promoting Victoria’s Secret.)

I guess it does matter what you wear on your wedding day – underneath the dress. I’m sure you’ve all heard at one point or another or may have some unconscious fear that someone will step on your wedding dress and accidentallyreveal what you have (or don’t have) underneath the lace, toile, silk, and/or chiffon. It’s just another thing to add to the list – or maybe you can ask your bridal party to handle it. Don’t forget to add this cute eyemask for your honeymoon, you’ll definitely need it!
