Something About Beds…

Whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure, one of the most important things to consider is where you’ll be sleeping! More than likely you will be staying at a hotel or resort. I consider the most important thing to have is a comfortable bed. If you’ve been on a flight from Toronto to Hong Kong (estimated 14 hours!), go through customs, claim baggage, travel through on subway or taxi plus shuttle bus, I’m sure you’re about to collapse and ready to crawl into that bed. [total travelling time = 20 hours]

It doesn’t matter if you’re travelling via plane, train, bus, car, bike (that’s your prerogative), or boat — travelling is exhausting! Sometimes, you need a vacation — from your vacation!

Not only should the bed be so comfortable that you feel like you’re melting into it and you refuse to get out of it in the morning, but the room (and bathroom!) should be spacious, clean, and well lit. When you book your next hotel, consider the amenities (e.g. entertainment, dining, shopping, etc.) around the hotel. It doesn’t hurt to have a killer view also.

Recently I stayed at the Courtyard by Mariott Downtown Toronto for my Sandals® Resorts training and certification. The hotel had free wi-fi available in the room and complimentary coffee in the mornings. The location was ideal at Yonge St./College St., one block away from the subway; 15 minute walk away from the Eaton Centre Shopping Mall (or one subway stop!) and all around great location for food!
